Instructions
  1. Bring water to boil in a pot with a steamer insert.
  2. While waiting on water, chop broccoli into florets and slice ginger.
  3. Place broccoli and ginger into steamer insert.
  4. Cook until it is still firm and the most awesome color of bright, deep green. If you overcook it gets mushy.
  5. If using a seasoning blend, sprinkle it on the broccoli just before it's done. If using sesame seeds, you can wait until you remove it from the steamer insert so as not to lose them all through the holes.
Recipe Notes

You will never want to eat plain broccoli again.  The ginger is so good for you and adds great flavor to the broccoli.

You can use fresh or frozen broccoli.

Tip:  I buy organic ginger when it's on sale and put it in the freezer in a freezer safe container.  A few minutes out of the freezer is really all you need to be able to slice it.  If you ever need to grate ginger, it grates easier when frozen.
